This route is about 80% bike paths and 20% small roads. We plan on 25 Miles per day so we have plenty of time to stop off and visit the towns and villages on the way. It's also dedicated cycle paths all the way into Rennes train station where we will take the train back to Sant Malo with our bikes
After taking the 30 minute Ferry from Lymington this is a relatively flat cycle ride 70% small roads and 30% cycle paths across the Island to Ryde. You will encounter a few busy roads and roundabouts on the approach to Newport and to get through the town but they are only short stages. For the more adventurous the southern route is level 4 biking taking you up some steep inclines and to some of the highest points on the IOW. You would need a full day to do this making sure we arrived at Ryde in time for the Ferry to Saint Malo
